Summary: A warm orange surface phase that sits between raw copper brightness and deeper reds. It reads as luminous and energetic.
Color: Tangerine, copper-orange, and amber/ochre; highlights can stay bright while open fields shift toward uniform orange with subtle interference. Recesses may deepen toward sienna.
Chemistry: Typically thin cuprite (Cu2O) films over metallic copper producing orange hues by optical effects; trace oxides/carbonates can push the tone toward amber or sienna. Often a transitional stage before redder patinas.
Classification: Orange is a sharpened trait category. We don’t use a „notable” and „full” designation for Orange; instead, the trait is reserved for clear standout examples that present a signature orange read. Borderline or orange-leaning Cents are intentionally excluded.
