Desert Patina
Summary: Whitish to pale tan-to-ochre toning with a dry, matte character; evokes a „sanded” or sun-baked look.
Color: White, sand, beige, light ochre, and warm tan. Often even across fields with slightly stronger accumulation in low areas.
Chemistry: Thin oxide films (incl. cuprite Cu2O) with environmental exposure; may include dust/mineral residues that mute saturation.

- Notable desert: Clearly visible desert toning, but still localised: thin pale films or islands in selected zones (often around lettering or in recesses); roughly from the minimum threshold up to ~20% of the area.
- Significant desert: Desert toning is a major visual actor across the coin; approximately ~20–70% coverage, or a smaller area with particularly strong coloration.
- Full desert: Desert toning is the dominant surface condition, forming broadly continuous regions that define the read of the coin; generally > ~70% coverage with a clear desert impression at first glance.
